Artist Statement

"The Fairy Godmother" is an acrylic painting that began with the delicate inspiration of butterfly wings. However, it quickly transformed into the more sinister form of a Venus flytrap, inviting viewers to approach with caution. The fairy godmother symbolizes the promise of making all our wishes come true, yet it serves as a reminder that if something seems too good to be true, it often is.

In this work, I invite you to contemplate the allure and risks of a world where everything is at our fingertips. What happens when our desires are fulfilled too easily? Are we the masters of our consumption, or do we risk being consumed by it? "The Fairy Godmother" serves as a visual metaphor for this paradox, challenging viewers to reflect on their own relationship with the digital realm and the seemingly endless possibilities it presents.

Through the interplay of beauty and danger, this painting encourages a deeper examination of the choices we make in a landscape that promises fulfillment but may ultimately ensnare us.
