I’m sitting in my front room, it’s morning. Everyone in the house is still asleep. It is a lazy Sunday morning. I am up already and have meditated for 20 minutes. Now having my coffee while I flow write with my Rosco, my dog, laying next to me. His dog smell is intoxicating. I love his smell. So comforting. We meditate together. My 2 feet on the floor with Rosco spread out like a belt over my lap. He brings me such joy this animal. Unconditional love. Without judgment, without words. Pure acceptance. Sheer delight, while he licks his paws after a good rest. We will walk him today at the dog park. I love to watch him run toward me. His ears flying back in the wind with his speed. He is a best friend. A true support. He is four years old now. No longer a puppy. Soft, fluffy, and delicious. He lives in the always, and already. Relaxed and present his mind doesn’t chatter like ours do. Something to aspire to.
Dogs, their minds are still. We have that accessible to us as humans at any time. Sit back. All we have to do is be. Sit back and be. Imagine moving your awareness behind your head by one foot and seeing yourself in the space around you. When you practice this kind of glimpse, you see that you are the space along with everything in environment with you. Panoramic, fishbowl, peripheral vision, flow state. Accepting the space for what it is and what it holds. Removing yourself from the mind and its ideas and lies. The chat in the environment with you. Removing yourself from the mind and its ideas and lies. The chatter behind your eyes. Bringing your awareness to the space, allows for the now to happen in a continuous flow. Recognizing we aren’t separate from the space and time that is occurring we are one with it in our natural flow state.
We in-still our awareness, while our attention can be placed on other, “things, objects, ideas”, without becoming enmeshed, or identified with the “ happenings”. Allowing what is here to be here without judgment. Feeling into the body. Feeling into the space. Experiencing the sounds as they are occurring. Being aware of sound from where it is happening. Allowing it to come to the ear for hearing. We can hear the sounds. We are aware of the sound, we can be aware from our ears, and “hear” the sound. Then we can remove ourselves one more time to become aware of the awareness of the hearing of the sound. It is a three step removal. We aren’t at the sound, and once it is here, it is as good as gone. No attachment. No manipulation, pure awareness.
This concept is the same with the thought. A thought or feeling or emotion arises in the mind. The mind becomes aware that it has the thought, feeling or emotion. This can produce a reaction which we can watch happen if we are trained enough. We can become aware of being aware of the thought, and therefore dis-identify with it. We remove ourselves from the thinking of the thought, feeling and emotion, and watch it with curiosity and kindness, instead of attaching, and becoming enmeshed with its content. It’s just content. A sense. Seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling, and the thinking of thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is in this, practicing of removing our attachment, sitting back, and allowing without judgment, that we can live our lives from a place of compassionate love.
Compassionate, love, heart-minded. Loving kindness. If we are attached to our outcomes or feelings, thoughts and emotions, we suffer. We cling, we want, we have to have, we need.
We become dependent on outcomes and people and things to make us feel whole and happy. If only I had this, or could do that. Maybe when I get this or attain that, then I will be filled with and fulfilled. These are stories and lies that your ego self, the mind, the small self tells you to keep you as a servant to its needs. The mind can function in a place where one is aware of awareness. It works from a heart minded space. Decisions, ideas, emotions, feelings, can all be expressed from this space, without becoming identified and strapped or attached to an outcome.
Loving kindness, heart mindedness can be accessed by anyone. Loch Kelly sagas it is an operating system that is waiting to become engaged. The Adyashanti says it is always and already here and available.
Wake up from the tyrant of the mind that holds us back with its ideas and stories of woe. Allowing everything to happen as it unfolds, is the beginning of this freedom. No more suffering. No more slavery to the mind. Come awake with me. Join me in the journey of your life. Be in the space with me where contentless is abundant, real and alive! Walk with me in the space that we all share, without judgment, without attachment to outcomes. Be here in the flow state of now. Relax, receive, be grateful. Allow.
